Ask three different organisations the right questions.

Provider capabilities, recipient requirements and your own access arrangements need different evidence.

Provider capabilities, recipient requirements and your own access arrangements need different evidence.
01

The provider describes the product

Confirm calling and messaging separately. Ask whether inbound and outbound functions are available, whether forwarding is supported and which number type is allocated. Features may vary by destination, product and contract.

02

The recipient sets its requirements

A number that receives some messages can still be excluded by an app. For example, Discord’s verification guidance excludes VoIP, burner and landline numbers. Steam’s authenticator FAQ also describes a restriction on new VoIP numbers.

Those examples were checked on 29 October 2026. Always reopen the official guidance for the exact action you want to perform. Calunexo does not test or guarantee compatibility.

03

Your arrangement determines practical control

Read permissions and renewal conditions as carefully as features. A shared inbox may be inappropriate for confidential messages even if the product technically receives them. Use authorised service options; this guide does not offer ways around restrictions.

04

Emergency and essential communication

Establish emergency-calling limitations directly with a provider. Do not rely on an unconfirmed virtual service as an emergency contact route. For important ordinary calls, plan what you will do if internet access or the service is unavailable.
